Festival Videogram

The videogram festival is carried out by the Patasola collective since 2015 with the aim of promoting cultural events and developing different artistic projects. The Festival has three versions and has been presented in different cities of Colombia, and in other festivals such as OVER THE REAL, 2023 and METACINEMA, 2020 in Italy.

The Collective is currently formed by three artists graduated from the Universidad de los Andes and currently professors and researchers of the Visual Arts Department of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia: Juan Alonso, Ximena Velasquez Sanchez and Yomayra Puentes-Rivera.

One of the great achievements of the collective in 2022 was the alliance between the Festival and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá, which led to the creation of the MAC's Video Art Collection, where the selected artists and participants can be part of a collection of experimental video art, animation and film, with the aim of promoting the study and dissemination of these genres. In this context, the exhibition Somos + (We Are +) was held at the Museum, based on the works voluntarily consigned by the artists.

Border Stories - 3rd Edition

In the third edition of the festival we received 2,716 proposals from 106 countries and 5 continents, a testimony of the interest and vitality of video art at an international level. This time, under the curatorial axis of Border StoriesThe Festival explored a multifaceted theme that invites us to reflect on the notion of limits from different perspectives.

Border Stories leads us to question and redefine physical and conceptual boundaries. On a first level, we face the tangible borders of our environment, natural borders such as rivers, seas and mountains, as well as the social, economic and political barriers that cross the public space and everyday spheres or borders capable of adapting to any space, however minimal it may be, arising, often involuntarily in everyday life, as when a drink is spilled leaving a suggestive trace that delimits the wet spot from the dry areas, something similar happens with the traces left by humidity on a surface. In the background, the curatorial axis opens a reflection on the boundaries between production media: from analog and digital techniques, to experimental cinema, video art and experimental animation.

Artificial Landscapes - 2nd Edition

The second edition of the festival was made possible thanks to the Red Galería Santa Fe grant. Santa Fe Nocturna Gallery. The official selection brought together 39 works from Colombia, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, Thailand, Romania, Turkey, under the curatorial axis of Artificial Landscapes.

In addition, Diego Piñeros, commissioned curator, proposed a program entitled Relatos del fin del mundo (Tales from the end of the world). A third program was curated by Colombian artist Adriana Marcela Rojas Espitia on behalf of the Muestra de Videoarte y Cine Experimental Intermediaciones de Medellín. Her curatorship was entitled: Paisajes Umbrosos Imágenes Fulgurantes.

At the end of 2021 a curatorship of the Festival's national works was presented at the Intermedial Art Festival Metacinema in Bologna, Italy and during 2022 the works circulated in other contexts and cities such as: the Museo de Arte Moderno in Medellin and at the Museo La Tertulia in Cali.
