Homemade opaque projectors and plates in copper etching
Variable dimensions, 3 x 4 meters approx.
2019/22
This work consists of three handmade opaque projectors, magic lanterns that, instead of projecting a translucent image, project objects. In this case, each projector contains one of the three plates in copper etching inside. The plates can be seen through a small opening at the top. The plates can be seen through a small opening at the top. The materiality of the plate contrasts with the lightness of the projected image, which takes on a golden hue inherent to the metal. The square edges of the plate fade, and its rectangular format yields to the circular shapes of the homemade lenses. The image we perceive is fragile, contrary to the matrix that produces it.
