The artwork acururar, an indigenous word used in the department of Nariño, Colombia, which translates as “to make a ball”, implies the process of spinning and weaving, actions that unite the hair of women who decided to cut it as a sign of transformation, exhaustion or sadness, forming a single continuous thread, intertwining not only matter, but feelings and affections that materialize a time of mourning.
The word denotes "to ball up, or "to curl up" when the body collects into itself contracted by some factor, such as fear or pain.
