The visit

In the past, houses had a dedicated space just for visits. Modern architectural and interior design, however, have reduced houses to basic functions, not particularly concerned with one’s needs, tastes, or dreams. Houses tend to be symmetrical and identical, one lined up after another, with hybrid gathering spaces that function as both a living room and dining room, serving to underscore the importance of the activities carried out within.

The pink suitcase carries everything needed to host a visit, allowing for the transformation of any setting for a few brief moments once its contents have been taken out and arranged.

The space is chosen based on personal preference and is transformed, allowing one to have a unique experience there. This takes place without any intention of leaving one’s mark or setting the location apart, not even of turning it into a favorite place. As Deleuze and Guattari wrote, “a matter of expression is never a vestige or symbol”.
