A woman bird is the protagonist of this work, a polemic female figure against the established canons throughout a markedly masculine history. She is an ambiguous character who carries a historical weight with imposed symbolic marks.
The bird woman is a figure in constant tension between opposites, she is submissive and emancipated, she is beautiful and macabre, she transits tranquility and vertigo. But above all, the greatest contradiction resides in the cage, since it is an object that seems to contain and limit her, although it is also a place of refuge for a life of autonomy and freedom.
The name of the work is based on a biblical fragment from the book of Job, which invites us to think about the will imposed on bodies and especially the role of women in trying to define a series of parameters and hierarchies.
"Is it due to your understanding that the hawk soars, that it spreads its wings to the south wind? Or is it by your command that an eagle flies upward, and that it builds its nest high, that on a crag it resides, and stays for the night on the tooth of a crag and in an inaccessible place? From there he must seek food; far in the distance his eyes keep watching. And her chicks themselves keep sipping blood; and where are those who have been slain, there she is. ."
